[Preview] Penguin Wars

Never having gotten a chance to play the original Penguin Wars, seeing the announcement trailer for the re-release version makes me wish I could send some sort of message back to my old self. Just by the looks of it, it sounds like Dispatch Games have found a great way to bring back everything the original game contained, while updating for the current-gen gaming audience, making Penguin Wars look very pleasing to everyone.

The game takes place on a table containing ten balls, and your goal is to get all of the balls on your opponents end of the table. You do this and you win, and if they end up on your side you lose. This mechanic is still maintained in the new game, with a newly added Story Mode so you can take your character on a journey and level them up as you battle your way to Gira Gira Land.

Dispatch promises characters with unique, differing skill sets, as well as both on and offline multiplayer modes, so you can battle your friends from the comfort of your own homes or shoulder-to-shoulder in tabletop mode.

An old game with new life breathed into it. We here at The Switch Effect are extremely excited about this game and eagerly awaiting it's release. We'll keep you updated with more information as it comes out about Penguin Wars.
